A special thanks to all kickballers who made the brave decision to give up their change and forgo clean clothes this week, and instead decided to contribute towards our charitable goal of $1,000.
Last Sunday in the Charity Jar that was passed around at Tommy Doyle's the league collected, with very little cajoling, $156. (Approximately $60 in cash and $96 in loose change.) In addition to this we collected 5.70 Euros (8.85USD) and 5 Kronur (.06USD). (Current exchange rates can be found at www.xe.com) As promised this contribution will be reflected on the league's Charity Thermometer, to be revealed Friday, that will chart our progress throughout the season.
Also on Friday at Jose McIntyre's there will be a 50/50 raffle. Raffle tickets are $1 each. If you buy $10 you also receive a lei. Entering this raffle gives you the chance at a cash prize, and half the proceeds go to charity! Plus, who doesn't want to say that they (insert compulsory "lei" joke here).
Once again thanks to all who contributed. With your continued support I have no doubt we will reach our ambitious goal!
